Oman Rescue Mission: 9 crew members of the oil tanker ship that sank in the sea near Oman have been rescued safely. There were a total of 16 members on the ship, out of which 7 are still missing. Out of the 9 people rescued, 8 are Indians and 1 is a Sri Lankan citizen. Out of the 7 crew members who are still missing, 5 are Indians and 2 are from Sri Lanka, whose search is still on.
As soon as the information about the sinking of the oil tanker in Oman was received, the Indian Navy’s warship INS Teg was sent for relief and rescue work. Along with INS Teg, the sea patrol aircraft P-8I was also engaged in relief and rescue work. Relief and rescue work was also being carried out from Oman. According to the information, the oil tanker that sank near Oman had the flag of Comoros on it.

The ship sank on 14 July, INS Teg reached on 15 July
The name of the Comoros-flagged cargo ship that sank near the Oman coast is said to be MT Falcon Prestige, which had sent a distress call near the Oman coast at around 10 pm on July 14. The Indian Embassy in Oman is in constant touch with Omani authorities. As soon as the information about the sinking of the ship was received, the Oman Maritime Security Center started a search and rescue operation for the sailors. From July 15, the Indian Navy also joined the search and rescue operation.
According to the information, INS Teg was on operational duty around the same sea area, when on receiving information about the sinking of the ship, it was sent for security operation on July 15. On July 16, INS Teg also found the location of the sunken ship.
